Som jeg forstår Bibelen, kan der være to store krige i
endetiden.
Ud over det faktum, at terroristerne i vores tid har
et mål om at angribe større byer i Europa og USA med atom-, kemiske
og biologiske masseødelæggelsesvåben, hvilket får os til at tænke
på Bibelens apokalyptiske rædselsscener hvor folkenes byer falder
Åb. 16:19), taler Bibelen om
at Israel bliver angrebet fra
nord, kaldet Gogs krig ledet af perserne Esek. 38 og 39, og russerne
fra nord.
Så, indtil slutningen, kommer den sidste krig, kaldet
Harmagedonkrigen, Åb. 16:10-18, før Jesus
kommer igen og
etablerer sit tusindårige fredsrige Åb. 19:11-20:3. Med den iranske
præsident Mahmoud Ahmadinejads opfordring til at udslette Israel fra
landkortet, er den såkaldte Gog-krig, som er nævnt i Ezekiel,
kapitel 38 og 39 i de sidste dage kommet tættere på verden på
livet.
Bibelske prædikanter har i generationer advaret mod denne såkaldte Gog-krig.
Jeg har selv talt og skrevet om disse kommende profetiske begivenheder siden begyndelsen af 1960'erne. Så sent som i december 2001 og marts 2006 havde Beviset på Troen overskriften: "Gogs krig er nær." Og i mine bøger Ørkenfolkene bøjer deres knæ" 1997 og Antikrist, Israel og Jesu genkomst 1999) er der kapitler, der diskuterer Bibelens Gog-krig og placerer den i profetisk rækkefølge. Bibelen kalder denne leder perserne 6539, kushiterne 3638 – nutidens sudanesere, og puterne 6316 – nutidens libyere, og hele alliancen, der angriber Israel, Gog i Magogs land. I jødisk tradition sættes den bibelske Agag og den bibelske
Gog lighedstegn mellem dem.
Dette ses tydeligt i den jødiske
bibel, Septuaginta, som jøderne brugte mest på Jesu tid. Denne
græske Septuaginta LXX oversættelse af Det Gamle Testamente fra
omkring 275 f.Kr. blev brugt af Jesus og de tidlige kristne, og den
bruger ordet Gog i stedet for Agag i 4. Mosebog 24:7 og 17-19. I
Esters Bog kaldes jødernes store fjende, Haman, som ønskede at
udrydde det jødiske folk, for en efterkommer af denne Agag Gog.
Ester 3:1 og 10, Ester 8:3 og 5 og Ester 9:24. På de egyptiske
lertavler fra det 14. århundrede f.Kr., som blev udgravet i Amarna,
kaldes de nordlige barbarer, der boede i Persien, Mesopotamien og
områderne nord for det, for GAGAYA. GOG – FJENDEN FRA NORD
Min far, Kåre Edvardsen, som var meget interesseret i det profetiske ord om Israel og Mellemøsten, fortalte mig ofte i 1960'erne-1970'erne og i de tidlige 1980'ere, at faren for Israel ikke kommer fra hverken Egypten i sydvest, Saudi-Arabien i syd, eller Jordan i øst, men det store angreb på Israel nærmer sig, når der er uroligheder ved Israels nordlige grænse.
Gog i Magogs land kaldes i Joels Bog for FJENDEN FRA NORD. Og der er

fra nord ødelagde Jerusalem og førte det jødiske folk bort til
Babylon omkring 586 f.Kr. Men flere af disse skriftsteder
er
tidløse og uden tidsbegrænsning, og kan forbindes med Gogs og
persernes angreb på Israel fra nord ved årenes slutning Ezek. 38:8,

10:22 Eller Så siger Herren: Se, vand stiger op fra nord og bliver
til en overstrømmende flod. Det skal skylle over landet og alt, hvad
der er i det, byerne og dem, der bor deri. Folket skal skrige og
skrige, alle landets indbyggere skal sørge. Jer. 47:2 Nu samles
soldater fra mange nationer i Libanon for at dæmme op for
infiltration og våben fra nord, fra lande som Syrien og Iran, som
finansierer og udruster Hizbollah. Bibelen fortæller mange steder,
at
soldater og hære fra alle nationer skal samles i dette
område til det endelige slag i Mellemøsten.
Joel 3:14-1 GOG I MAGOGS LAND ANGRIBER ISRAELS LAND Perserne og

gamle bibelske kort var Magogs land områderne fra Sortehavets
østkyst og østpå til områderne øst og syd for Det Kaspiske Hav,
næsten hele vejen til Pakistan. Områderne syd for Magog blev kaldt
Persien, dagens Iran, og selve Magogs land, området nord for Iran,
består i dag af de muslimske republikker Aserbajdsjan, Turkmenistan,
Usbekistan, Kasakhstan, Kirgisistan, Tadsjikistan og Afghanistan.
Bibelen siger, at Gog af Magog vil angribe et genoprettet Israel i
endens tid", efter at jøderne
er vendt tilbage til deres
gamle land i de sidste dage. Bibelen beskriver Gog-krigen som følger
og siger til Gog af Magog og hans allierede: Efter lang tid vil du
blive kaldt. Ved årenes slutning vil du komme til et land, der

Så siger Herren HERREN: På den dag skal tanker komme i dit hjerte, og du skal udtænke en ond plan og sige: Jeg vil drage op mod et land med åbne byer; jeg vil komme mod et fredeligt folk, som bor trygt, alle sammen uden mure og uden slåer eller porte, for at plyndre og tage bytte, for at vende din hånd mod de genopbyggede ruiner og mod et folk, som er samlet fra folkeslagene, som har samlet kvæg og gods, som bor midt på jorden." Sheba og Dedan og Tarshishs købmænd og alle deres unge løver skal sige til dig: "Er du kommet for at plyndre og tage bytte? Har du samlet dine tropper for at plyndre og bortføre sølv og guld, for at tage kvæg og gods og gøre et stort bytte? Derfor, menneskesøn, profeter og sig til Gog: Så siger den suveræne Herre: Se, på den tid, når mit folk Israel bor trygt, vil du da ikke vide det? Da skal du komme fra dit land, fra de fjerneste egne i nord, du og mange folkeslag med dig, alle ridende på heste, en stor skare og en talrig hær. Du skal drage op imod mit folk Israel som en sky, der dækker landet. I de sidste dage skal det ske. Da vil jeg føre dig mod mit land, for at nationerne kan kende mig, når jeg helliger mig på dig for deres øjne, o Gog!

TWO LAST WARS OF THE END TIMES BEFORE PEACE COMES
As I
understand the Bible, there may be two major wars in the end
times.
In addition to the fact that the terrorists of our time
have a goal of attacking major cities in Europe and the USA with
nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction, which
makes us think of the Bible's apocalyptic horror scenes where the
cities of the nations fall Rev. 16:19), the Bible speaks of
Israel
being attacked from the north, called Gog's war led by the Persians
Ezek. 38 and 39, and the Russians from the north.
Then,
until the end, the last war comes, called the war of Armageddon, Rev.
16:10-18, before Jesus
comes again and establishes his
thousand-year reign of peace Rev. 19:11-20:3. With Iranian President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s call to wipe Israel off the map, the
so-called Gog War, mentioned in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39, has come
closer to the world in the last days.
Bible preachers have
warned against this so-called Gog War for generations.
I
have spoken and written about these coming prophetic events myself
since the early 1960s. As recently as December 2001 and March 2006,
Evidence of Faith carried the headline: “Gog’s War Is Near.”
And in my books The Desert Peoples Bend Their Knees (1997) and The
Antichrist, Israel and the Second Coming of Jesus (1999) there are
chapters that discuss the Biblical Gog War and place it in prophetic
order. The Bible calls this leader the Persians 6539, the Kushites
3638 – today’s Sudanese, and the Putians 6316 – today’s
Libyans, and the entire alliance that attacks Israel, Gog in the land
of Magog. And “Gog in Magog” is always used in the Bible as a
symbol for Israel’s enemies. GOG = AGAG, THE ENEMY OF THE JEWS
In
Jewish tradition, the biblical Agag and the biblical Gog are
equated.
This is clearly seen in the Jewish Bible, the
Septuagint, which was most widely used by the Jews at the time of
Jesus. This Greek Septuagint LXX translation of the Old Testament
from around 275 BC was used by Jesus and the early Christians, and it
uses the word Gog instead of Agag in Numbers 24:7 and 17-19. In the
Book of Esther, the great enemy of the Jews, Haman, who wanted to
exterminate the Jewish people, is called a descendant of this Agag
Gog. Esther 3:1 and 10, Esther 8:3 and 5, and Esther 9:24. On the
Egyptian clay tablets from the 14th century BC, excavated at Amarna,
the northern barbarians who lived in Persia, Mesopotamia, and the
areas north of it are called GAGAYA. GOG – THE ENEMY FROM THE
NORTH
My father, Kåre Edvardsen, who was very interested
in the prophetic word about Israel and the Middle East, often told me
in the 1960s-1970s and in the early 1980s that the danger to Israel
does not come from either Egypt in the southwest, Saudi Arabia in the
south, or Jordan in the east, but the great attack on Israel
approaches when there is unrest on Israel's northern border.
Gog
in the land of Magog is called the ENEMY FROM THE NORTH in the Book
of Joel. And there are a number of Bible passages about "calamity
from the north, a great destruction Jer. 6 Many of these prophecies
were fulfilled when Nebuchadnezzar's armies from the north destroyed
Jerusalem and carried the Jewish people away to Babylon around 586
BC. But several of these scriptures
are timeless and without
time limit, and can be connected with the attack of Gog and the
Persians on Israel from the north at the end of the years Ezek. 38:8,
such as: A report and a great rumbling come from the north country.
Jer. 10:22 Or Thus says the Lord: Behold, waters rise up out of the
north, and shall be an overflowing river. It shall overflow the land,
and all that is in it, the cities, and them that dwell therein. The
people shall cry and wail, all the inhabitants of the land shall
mourn. Jer. 47:2 Now soldiers from many nations are gathering in
Lebanon to stem the infiltration and weapons from the north, from
countries like Syria and Iran, which finance and equip Hezbollah. The
Bible tells in many places, that
soldiers and armies from all
nations will gather in this area for the final battle in the Middle
East.
Joel 3:14-1 GOG OF THE LAND OF MAGOG ATTACKS THE
LAND OF ISRAEL The Persians and their allies come from the north, led
by Gog of the land of Magog. On old biblical maps, the land of Magog
was the area from the eastern coast of the Black Sea eastward to the
areas east and south of the Caspian Sea, almost all the way to
Pakistan. The areas south of Magog were called Persia, today's Iran,
and the land of Magog itself, the area north of Iran, today consists
of the Muslim republics of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.
The
Bible says that Gog of Magog will attack a restored Israel in the
"end times," after the Jews
have returned to their
ancient land in the last days. The Bible describes the Gog War as
follows, saying to Gog of Magog and his allies: After many days you
will be called. At the end of the years you will come to a land that
is 11:11 And the Lord said to the children of Israel, “You will be
saved from the sword; her people are gathered from many peoples on
the mountains of Israel, which weredesolate. But now she is brought
out from among the nations, and they dwell there securely, all of
them. There you shall go up; you shall come like a storm, you shall
be like a cloud to cover the land, you and all your troops and many
peoples with you.
Thus says the Lord GOD: In that day
thoughts will come into your heart, and you will devise an evil plan,
saying, I will go up against a land of open cities; I will come
against a peaceful people, dwelling securely, all of them without
walls, bars, or gates, to plunder and take a spoil, to turn your hand
against the rebuilt ruins and against a people gathered from the
nations, who have gathered cattle and goods, who live in the midst of
the earth. Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all
their young lions will say to you, “Have you come to plunder and
take a spoil? Have you gathered your troops to plunder and take away
silver and gold, to take cattle and goods and to make a great spoil?
Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord
God: Behold, in that day when my people Israel dwell safely, will you
not know it? Then you will come from your land, from the remotest
parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding
on horses, a great company and a mighty army. You will come up
against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the last
days it will come to pass that I will bring you against my land, that
the nations may know me, when I sanctify myself in you before their
eyes, O Gog!
